Technical Requirements

Our CRM Template for SharePoint and Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) template are custom SharePoint templates that can be installed by your SharePoint Site Administrator or on a hosted SharePoint service that you have selected which enables add-ons to be installed.

The CRM and SRM templates are made up of Custom Web Parts and a series of Lists that register data or perform a particular function on that data.  LookOut’s CRM and SRM SharePoint templates are developed on the Windows SharePoint Server (WSS 3.0) platform. WSS is supplied free with Windows Server 2003/2008.

LookOut’s CRM and SRM are also compatible with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, commonly known as MOSS 2007, which is a licensed version of SharePoint used by organisations who need additional SharePoint functionality and scalability. As a SharePoint product the CRM and SRM can also be extended to support a corporation's sales processes, client management workflow or stakeholder management and issues.

As with any other SharePoint site, all data is stored in a database on either a local SQL Server instance or it can be stored in a database on another SQL Server instance available to SharePoint. Microsoft SQL Server is a database server used by SharePoint and many other critical business applications

The CRM and SRM information data is secured and access is controlled via SharePoint permissions and additional controls within the SRM.  In addition SQL Server provides a secure and robust data repository when properly configured.

The standard SRM can also be enhanced with a number of custom built and third party enhancements including a Pivit Report, a Mobile Connector for hand held devices, Work flow Engines, an Enterprise Calendar connecting to Exchange Server, and many more third party SharePoint add-ons.

SERVER RECOMMENDATIONS
Server Class computer system with Xeon or Opteron (multiple single processors or multi-core or both) 2.0 GHz CPU or higher, accessing at least 4 Gigs of RAM.

OPERATING SYSTEM OPTIONS

Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008

SHAREPOINT VERSION OPTIONS

WSS 3.0 or MOSS 2007.

SQL SERVER OPTIONS

Option 1:        MS SQL Server that is embedded with WSS and Windows OS – This is a free built-in version of SQL 2005 that installs optionally with SharePoint).

Option 2:        MS SQL Server Express - Free (Some restrictions apply. See Microsoft for details).

Option 3:        Any edition of MS SQL Server 2000 SP4, SQL Server 2005 SP1 or SQL Server 2008.

Note: LookOut discourages usage of Virtual Machines without sufficient resources due to potential diminished end user experience.
